Give every New Yorker the opportunity to recycle and reduce waste, including at NYCHA housing
Recycling is now available at 120 New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) developments that service 186,920 (46%) of NYCHA residents. In partnership with the Department of Sanitation (DSNY), NYCHA Recycles is laying the necessary groundwork in order to be in full compliance with the NYC Recycling Law by the end of 2016. All NYCHA developments will have recycling bin infrastructure installed, residents will be offered a recycling training, and DSNY will collect the recyclables from the full portfolio of NYCHA buildings.
